The YBC 7194 clay tablet is preserved in the Yale Babylonian Collection in the United States. The tablet is located in the Sterling Memorial Library on the Yale University Library campus in New Haven, Connecticut.
This tablet was deciphered by Dr. Piotr Steinkeller.
A specialist in ancient Near Eastern history and Assyriology, Piotr Steinkeller works at Harvard University. The renowned scholar continues his academic career as a Professor of Assyriology in the Department of Near Eastern Languages ​​and Civilizations at the university.
This tablet was found in the ruins of the Sumerian city of Larsa.
Larsa was an ancient Sumerian city-state located in southern present-day Iraq, approximately 32 km from ancient Uruk. This ancient settlement, an important source of information about Mesopotamia, is marked as Tell Senkereh (or Tell Sankarah) on modern maps. This deciphered tablet states, according to the decision of the Nibiru High Council, that
the people of Nibiru will return to Earth in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
