Signs 113 – A New Threat Has Emerged : Your Own World USA

Signs 113 – A New Threat Has EmergedThe March 17, 2026, Ohio bolide was reported in multiple states and created a blast wave.  In Signs 112 – Q1 2026 Concerns, we stated, “The concern is that we are entering a new phase and that many more large bolides will light up our skies in the months ahead.”  In April, the concern materialized.

We began the Signs series in 2015, and with the April 2026 fireball data, we now see that this concern has, in fact, materialized with a completely new threat.  Yet it is the one thing we’ve long worried most about.

A recent global pattern shows an increase in multi-witness fireball events over vast distances, especially in April 2026.  This fireball data subset, “Huge Events,” reports have now spread across North America and Europe rather than being confined to a single region. The strongest signal is not a huge jump in total fireball counts, but a sharp rise in large events that generate 50, 100, or more witness reports.  In other words, we’re seeing something new.

In April, this evolving trend morphed into a new dimension, for huge event fireballs.  We call it the “Huge Event Travel Distance,” and this begs a simple question.  Where are these space rocks coming from?   With that question in mind, let’s dive into the numbers.

April 2026 Fireballs

Fireballs are reported worldwide, and the American Meteor Society is the primary source for this dataset in North America.

AMS Multistate / Country Fireballs

Multistate/country fireballs cross the borders of multiple states and countries. This is a critical category in the dataset because these fireballs must travel long distances to receive reports from across large geographic areas.  We refer to these types of fireballs as “skimmers” because they exhibit flat trajectories.

March 2026 reached first place for this period in this dataset, and now April has done the same.  This is not a marginal gain.  It’s huge for both months, and we’re entering the two lowest months, May and June. It will be interesting to see whether this uptrend continues or not.

AMS Huge Event Fireballs

It’s common for Multistate/Country Fireballs to be reported as major events because a fireball is considered major when 100 or more eyewitnesses report it.  We call them “plungers” because of their steep trajectory.

AMS Huge Event Fireballs for 1/2022 to 4/2026

March 2026 set an all-time record for this period, with 12 events, requiring us to change the scale to reflect the increase.  April was not as high but tied with 2024 for first place.  Relative to 2025, this is a very significant development.  Moreover, we now see a trend emerging that represents a new threat.  We call this new trend “Huge Event Travel Distance.”

Huge Event Travel Distance

What we are seeing now is a new trend.  Previously, Huge Event fireballs were always limited to a narrower reporting area because of their steep trajectories.  However, in April 2026, the numbers revealed a new trend for this data subset, which essentially combines Huge Event fireballs with multistate/country fireballs.  To illustrate the point, we will show the raw AMS data reporting we use to create our Signs articles for January, March, and April of this year.  Note the red bounding boxes for the key data.  Huge Event Travel Distance for Jan 2026

As you can see in the January reporting, only one Huge Event fireball showed a lengthy multi-country travel distance.  February was similar, so let’s skip forward to March of this year.

Huge Event Travel Distance for Mar 2026

In March, we saw two major events that required long-distance travel across multiple countries.  That was a concern at that time, but one that could be explained as natural variability.  That was, until the April numbers came in.

Huge Event Travel Distance for April 2026

April 2026 sets the bar for this trend among the huge-event travel-distance fireballs.  It is the first time we’ve ever seen this, and it has brought up an old concern that dates back to the early days of our Nemesis research.  The data indicate these rocks are not necessarily from the Nemesis Cloud.  So what is the meaning of all this?

Due to the flatter trajectories of these new huge event meteors, they are not necessarily a part of the Nemesis Cloud.  Rather, Nemesis is massive, and so what we are seeing now is likely the main effects on the orbits of outer‑solar‑system space rocks being knocked toward the inner system.  This has long been a concern for us, dating back to the early days of our research.

In simple terms, think of this like billiards.  The cue ball, Nemesis in this case, is now smashing into other balls, sending them off in different directions.    Therefore, going forward, the question is whether this new trend will continue as is, expand, or eventually pass.  We believe we’ll have an answer in the coming months.

AMS Monthly Total Fireballs

The monthly total fireballs are the most critical category in this dataset, and April 2026, like March, evidenced a significant uptick.

AMS Monthly Fireballs for 1/2022 to 4/2026

When considered alongside the other two datasets, the April 2026 numbers show another massive uptick for this period.   This is a significant statistical increase, and it is concerning because it shows Earth is passing through a dense region of the Nemesis Cloud.

Yearly AMS Fireball Totals

The total number of fireballs for April 2026 exceeds that of 2011 and 2012.  Yet, just short of topping 2013.

AMS Yearly Fireballs for 1/2011 to 4/2026

Now that we’re in Q2 2026, we’re concerned that the statistical increases across all datasets seen in the April 2026 reporting will continue in this quarter.  If so, the risk of a serious impact in the second half of this year will increase.

Volcano DiscoveryVolcano Discovery is a recognized news portal for earthquake and volcano updates. Volcano Discovery is an adventure tour operator that conducts geotours and volcano tours worldwide, in collaboration with trusted partners.   We report data from the USGS and Volcano Discovery, enabling you to view the suppression of data that our government has been conducting for several years.

Volcano Discovery - 1/2025 to 4/2026

We view Volcano Discovery as the most credible earthquake reporting agency on the Internet today, and the drop from January to April of this year is remarkable, especially compared with the USGS.

April 2026 - USGS YTD vs. Volcano Discovery YTD
According to Volcano Discovery data, April 2026 came in just below March 2026.  However, the USGS, with its data-capping strategy, stayed inside its artificial reporting range.

April 2026 - Volcano Discovery YTD

In April 2026, there were 40,449 earthquakes.  Of interest is that there are two earthquakes with magnitudes exceeding 7.o, and 6 with magnitudes between 6.0 and 7.0.  While overall activity is moderately below that of March 2026, the higher-magnitude events are comparable to those in months with much higher activity.
