MeRA25, led by economist and former Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, was founded in 2018. Varoufakis became internationally known during Greece’s 2015 debt crisis, confronting creditors over austerity before resigning after the referendum. MeRA25 supports stronger workers’ rights, public services, economic reform and redistribution while opposing austerity and criticising the EU’s economic model. It entered Parliament with 3.44% in 2019 but fell below the 3% threshold in 2023.
Το ΜέΡΑ25, με επικεφαλής τον οικονομολόγο και πρώην Υπουργό Οικονομικών Γιάνη Βαρουφάκη, ιδρύθηκε το 2018. Ο Βαρουφάκης έγινε διεθνώς γνωστός στην κρίση του 2015, συγκρουόμενος με τους πιστωτές για τη λιτότητα πριν παραιτηθεί μετά το δημοψήφισμα. Το ΜέΡΑ25 υποστηρίζει ισχυρότερα εργασιακά δικαιώματα, δημόσιες υπηρεσίες και οικονομική αναδιανομή. Μπήκε στη Βουλή με 3,44% το 2019, αλλά έμεινε εκτός το 2023.
