SpaceX Starship HLS: Why SpaceX’s Moon Lander Is Closer Than Ever
While most of the world’s attention has been focused on Starship’s next test flight, NASA quietly revealed something far bigger than another lunar mission. The agency has officially begun laying the groundwork for a permanent Moon Base, complete with robotic cargo missions, surface vehicles, infrastructure, and eventually habitats where astronauts can live and work for months at a time.
At the exact same time, SpaceX is accelerating Starship development faster than ever. Ship 40 has completed another successful engine test. Ship 41 is already passing cryogenic proof testing. Booster 20 is moving closer to flight readiness. Starbase itself is expanding with new production facilities and launch infrastructure designed to support an entirely different launch cadence than we’ve ever seen before.
