*John Peacock* is a British cosmologist and astronomer, and Professor of Cosmology at the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on the large-scale structure of the universe, galaxy formation, and observational cosmology, and he has received major honors including the Shaw Prize and election as a Fellow of the Royal Society.
