In 1991, Noam Chomsky was interviewed by Soundings, as part of their weekly broadcast. The program was aired on July 17, 1991, though it was recorded prior. Also interviewed for this episode was Dennis Baron of the University of Champaign-Urbana. The title of this episode was “Powerful Language.”
The source file was a good quality (256/44) MP3, based off (likely) a reel to reel master. I removed a persistent hum and rumble throughout the program, and removed a light grinding, hissing sound as well. I then went over the program (for Chomsky’s portion) second by second, removing or reducing all the audio problems (pops, clicks, clipping, etc.)
