We explore the controversial geopolymer theory behind the perfectly fitted polygonal masonry of Sacsayhuamán, Ollantaytambo, Cusco, and Puma Punku at Tiwanaku. Could these massive megalithic blocks — some weighing over 100 tons — have been cast, molded, and shaped like clay, then hardened into stone through advanced ancient chemistry? We examine scientific research by Joseph Davidovits, whose team used scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) to analyze samples from Puma Punku. We also explore the experimental work of Marcell Fóti and the Natron Theory, demonstrating how granite and other stone types can be recreated through chemical processes using mineral powders and alkaline solutions.
